Nikolay Andrukovich began his career in the world of art in the USSR where he studied art and furniture design at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts. He has devoted himself to art and has been exploring different themes and techniques. He enjoys painting with traditional oils on canvas and derives great pleasure from producing artwork that tells a story, that is full of energy and symbolism. Nikolay has a tendency to challenge the classical academic painting and to extend the boundaries of the obvious figurative content (that still remains widely popular in ex-Soviet countries) into something that touches a nerve deep within. At the same time, the artist’s fascination with fine details, especially in botanical works, is hard to remain unnoticed.
Nikolay’s works are now to be found in the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Minsk, Belarus as well as in private collections in Belarus, Germany, Belgium, Sweden and the UK.
Born in Belarus, Nikolay lives and works in his studio outside Minsk and is a frequent lecturer at the Belarusian Pedagogical University of Minsk.
